The Gunners would be hoping to kick off their season with a win but faced a tricky match against the side that put the final nail in the coffin of their title challenge last season.
And TNT Sports was making the most of its chance to shine on its debut as it provided interviews with the players and managers before the game.
In one instance Ally McCoist and Jules Breach spoke to Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard in the entrance to the stadium.
During the interview, the Norwegian insisted that the team would be using last season’s “disappointment” to motivate them this season.
And fans were loving the coverage provided by McCoist as they flocked to social media.
One Tweeted: “What a move by TNT Sports bringing Ally McCoist to their PL coverage, top class.”
A second commented: “Ally McCoist on TNT Sports I’m super locked in.”
A third wrote: “I’m vibing with this TNT Sports coverage we finally moving on in this country and getting proper content.”
