AN extremely rare Ford Mondeo model that Top Gear’s legendary presenters gushed over can be yours for a bargain price.
Up for sale via Cars & Classic auction house, petrolheads can now get their hands on a seldom seen ST200 Estate with an asking price of just £7,990.

The souped up family favourite, with an impressive top speed of 141 mph, is perhaps best remembered for its iconic appearance in the Grand Tour episode titled ‘Funeral for a Ford‘.
In the episode, where hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond explored the history of the medium-sized Ford saloon and how it became a bedrock of British life, the usually hard-to-please car nuts waxed lyrical on the fast Ford.
In fact, they remarked at the time that the Mondeo ST200 Estate is perhaps the only motor that all three of them like.
During a test drive, James said: “I like that it’s the fast version but it was still comfortable.
“Its seats were great, it still rides properly, doesn’t make a terrible racket; it’s just civilised.”
Richard added: “I like the way it was a proper practical estate, it had a massive boot and Ford had the sense to give it five doors.”
While Jeremy simply said: “I like its speed.”

The 25-year-old motor, which comes in Imperial Blue – similar to the one in the Grand Tour episode – has covered just 106,000 miles from new and comes “incredibly well maintained with a comprehensive history file.”
Boasting a 2.5-litre V6 engine, the ST200 was designed to be a subtle nod to the Sierra Cosworth with its power, while still focussing on the driving experience.
It featured a number of small features that differentiated from a regular Mondeo Estate – notably its low slung spoiler and two exhaust pipes on either side of the car, as well as the iconic mesh front grille and pinpoint fog lamps.
This comes as Wheeler Dealers host Mike Brewer showed off a Ford Focus ST he picked up – hoping to turn a profit on the “modern classic” after purchasing it for £3,000.
Elsewhere, a car expert has urged drivers to look at four family cars that can be found for under £5,000 including a “hugely practical” Honda hatchback.
