Explorer uncovers abandoned warehouse full of old motors – including a vintage Merc, sporty Alfas and 90s Fords

A man has discovered a hidden treasure trove of abandoned cars in a warehouse that look like they’ve just been deserted.

Edou Hofstra, 25, from the Netherlands, has a passion for exploring abandoned locations and came across this goldmine next to a river, which appears to have been untouched for many years.

A vintage Mercedes was just one of a host of classic motors found in the warehouseCaters News Agency

The fascinating pictures show a host of cars in the warehouse, although it’s unclear why the owners have just upped and left them.

Among the hordes of motors is a vintage Mercedes and a Alfa Romeo 156, while stripped-back car shells are also visible.

Some of the cars are definitely holding up better than others, with a Peugeot 206 CC looking the best of the bunch – although a classic VW campervan can also be seen backed up against the side wall.

Ford seems to be well represented in the warehouse with what looks to be an old Fiesta, Mondeo and possibly an Escort model – all needing some much needed TLC.

Shockingly, some of the flooring has given way and a number of cars have fallen into the opening below.

The explorer explains: “You can see in the photos – there are loads of old abandoned cars, and some cars are in better shape than others.

“The entrance was by water, so we needed to go into the water to get into the location.

“You can see the floor has gone under, and I think that is one of the reasons it’s abandoned. The reason I was there is because I love abandoned buildings and cars, so it was perfect.

“The place is in good shape… so there is no graffiti and no stuff broken.

“For Belgium, it is special, as most of the time, if there is a nice location, it is broken into and covered in graffiti tags within a few weeks.”

The classic VW campervan can be seen just to the right of the picture, and could make a good restoration project for the right ownerCaters News Agency
