LOVERS can burn off the calories from fish and chips by having sex — but it would take them nearly two hours, research found.
Couples burn an average of 162kcal between them for every ten minutes in the sack, boffins say.

A portion of cod and chips has 861kcal — so 1,722kcal for two — meaning it would take one hour and 46 minutes of lovemaking for both to use up the energy.
It could be even longer for those scoffing a Sunday roast, which can come in at more than 1,000kcal each.
Isaac Robertson, of fitness website Total Shape, said: “It’s important to note the number of calories burned during sex varies widely from one session to another.
“Different positions and how fast-paced it is can change the number burned.”
Half of Brits say they have sex once a week on average.
But it rarely lasts long enough to burn off a fatty dinner — with most saying anything over 30 minutes is “too long”.
Mr Robertson added: “If you’re looking to maximise the calorie burn during sex, then having a healthy diet and taking vitamins can help you last longer.”
