Ex-Man Utd icon Ryan Giggs’ Ferrari 550 Maranello is up for sale – and it should net a fortune

EX-MANCHESTER United icon Ryan Giggs’ Ferrari 550 Maranello is up for sale for an eye-watering price.

The classic 1998 supercar has just 37,000 miles on the clock, and is up for sale with a whopping £89,950 price tag.

The Welsh superstar spent his whole professional career playing with Manchester United, where he also briefly held the position of interim manager after the sacking of David Moyes in April 2014.

The 1998 550 Maranello comes with a big naturally-aspirated V12 engine, and is one of just 3,083 models produced.

Bought from new, the Ferrari marked a bit of a step-up from Giggs’ first-ever car at Man Utd – a red Ford Escort, which he later sold on to one Mr David Beckham.

Fancying something possibly a little more comfortable and refined, Giggs went on to buy a Bentley Continental GT Mulliner 6.0-litre W12 in 2006.

Speaking to the Evening Standard back in 2012, Giggs spoke of how he had to give up buying so many sports cars because operating the stiff clutch pedal of each new model was contributing to his reoccurring leg injuries.

He said: “My love of cars is well known and I used to switch from one model to another every few months.

“Experts told me that the different stiff clutch pedals on my cars might have been putting extra stress on my left leg and aggravating my hamstring.

‘I decided to stick with the same car and it seems to have done the trick because I’ve been fit for virtually the whole of this season so far.’
