FORMER Bournemouth striker Brett Pitman left his club “skint” after scoring seven goals in a non-league match.
The 35-year-old, who now plays for Wessex League club Shaftesbury FC, ended 2023 on a high after putting seven past Christchuch in a huge 8-2 win.

Having joined the club from Portchester ahead of the 2023-24 season, he reportedly agreed a £75 goalscoring bonus.
That means Pitman would have picked up an extra £575 on top of his additional wage after Saturday’s match.
The striker was unsurprisingly named Player of the Match at full time.
He even posed for a picture with champagne and a can of 7Up to celebrate.
The Shaftesbury social media admin later joked that the club had become “skint” as a result of Pitman’s goalscoring form.
In response to a fan, a tweet from the club’s official account read: “Beans on toast for us tonight. Skint now.”
Pitman is now the league’s top goalscorer.
The striker kicked off his professional playing career with Bournemouth in 2005 before joining Bristol City five years later.

He then returned to Bournemouth on loan in 2013 before sealing a permanent move back.
Pitman scored 102 goals in 302 appearances for the Cherries across his three separate spells.
He also played for Ipswich, Portsmouth, Swindon, Bristol Rovers and Eastleigh.
