The match resulted in a comfortable win for the visitors, although viewers didn’t get to watch the best moment of the game as it happened.
Goals by Antonin Barak and Arthur Cabral put La Viola into a commanding 2-0 position – before a Cristiano Biraghi wonder-strike from his own half sealed a 3-0 win.
With a player down receiving treatment the local broadcast, which BT Sport picks up, decided to show a replay of Verona hitting the post.
As the feed cut back to live, fans were left confused as Fiorentina stars celebrated.
Replays eventually revealed that Biraghi had opted to shoot directly from a free-kick in his own half, with the ball incredibly sailing into the back of the net.
Despite a Fiorentina star being down hurt, the referee allowed the goal to stand, ignoring Verona’s protestations.
Regarding the incident, fans couldn’t believe it had been missed by telly cameras.
One wrote: “Unbelievable s*** director missing the actual goal.”

A second responded: “Shambles.”
While a third tweeted: “What on earth happened there? The commentators & cameraman didn’t have a clue.”
And a fourth added: “The perils of comms from a studio, hasn’t a clue what’s happened till the replay has he.”
One user cut the commentator some slack, tweeting: “To be fair to the commentator he has done remarkably well in a mad situation.
“He’s clearly in a studio, presumably in the UK, but has somehow managed to keep the flow of the commentary relatively steady whilst you can tell half of his brain is working over time on what’s happened.”
Many were unhappy with the referee allowing the wonder-goal to count – one tweeting: “That’s ridiculous how that is allowed stand. Ref is on his way over to check on the injured player.”
A second fumed: “Surely the ref has to restart the game? Looks like he caught by surprise? How does that stand?”
