After the full-time whistle and with the players downbeat, the Dutch manager made the his flops sit in silence and endure the cheers coming from the rowdy Liverpool dressing room, according to The Mirror.
The report adds that the former Ajax manager told his players to use the Liverpool celebrations to motivate them to never let it happen again.
It comes as SunSport revealed Ten Hag also dished out his own hairdryer treatment to the players.
It is believed that it was the “angriest” the manager has “ever been”.
Ten Hag called the squad into training this morning with an inquest being held into the game.
A United source told The Mirror: “Ten Hag was obviously furious and told them they were lucky to be getting on the team bus back to Old Trafford and not made to travel back with the fans.
“He warned them all that if anything like that happens again, there won’t be another chance for them and they’ll be put in the Under-21s.”
Despite United being unlucky to go in 1-0 at the break, they then completely capitulated in the second half.
