The draw for next summer’s Euro 2024 tournament

Gareth Southgate’s side will go to the Euros as one of the favourites to win the tournament along with France and Portugal.

England reached the Euro 2020 final after beating Denmark in the semis and they will meet the Danes again in Germany.

That will be their second game of the group after taking on Serbia on June 15 in Gelsenkirchen, with the group stage culminating in a clash against Slovenia.

The Arena AufSchalke in Gelsenkirchen is a cursed stadium for England as it was the venue where Sven Goran Eriksson’s side were knocked out of the 2006 World Cup by Portugal.

Now all that is left for Southgate to decide is his 23-man squad.

He will get one final chance to run the rule over his players when England take on Brazil and Belgium in two Wembley friends next March.

The tournament kicks off in Munich on June 14 and the final takes place in Germany’s capital Berlin on July 14.

Scotland have been drawn in the group of death against hosts Germany, Hungary and Switzerland.
