Elton John hospitalised after falling at his luxury villa

Elton John has been rushed to hospital after suffering a fall at his luxury French villa on Sunday.

The Rocketman singer, 76, stayed overnight at the Princess Grace Hospital in Monaco after “slipping” at his home just outside of Nice, France.

A representative for the legendary artist told People that he’s back home and doing well since the incident.

“Elton visited the local hospital as a precautionary measure,” they said.

“Following check ups, he was immediately discharged this morning and is now back at home and in good health.”

9Honey Australia has contacted a representative of John for comment in relation to this story.

In November 2021, John revealed he had a hip replacement after postponing his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

“I’ve had a hip replacement, but I’m full of beans and I’m full of zest. But this is just a prompter to say ‘come on you’ve got more to do now,'” he said at the time, according to the Evening Standard.

“I may not look as if I’m 100 per cent fit – but I’m not quite – but I’m still raring to go and I’ve got a lot more work to do as far as my life goes. So this is just a reminder that there’s more to do.”

While touring New Zealand in February 2020, the singer had to cut short his show after becoming ill with walking pneumonia, forcing him to cancel some of his tour dates.

John played the last UK show of his farewell tour at the Glastonbury music festival and reportedly thrilled crowds of more than 120,000 people.

“I’m so happy to be here. I won’t ever forget this,” he reportedly told the crowd.

John, who hails from Pinner in the U.K, released his debut album in 1969.

The singer, who was previously admitted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, is known for hits including Your Song, Rocket Man and Candle in the Wind.
