England went in ahead at half-time after the 23-year-old’s stunning strike in the 36th-minute silenced the raucous home crowd.
Toone, who plays for Manchester United in the WSL, celebrated wildly after her thunderbolt goal.
She kissed a tattoo on her wrist before mimicking a love heart with her hands after scoring the opener.
And she had already explained the BBC Sport the reason behind her celebration ahead of the game.
Asked about potentially scoring, Toone said: “Yeah, I’d do an absolute madness. I definitely do think about that and in tournament football moments fall to different people and if you take them moments, and we’ve definitely had a lot of them throughout the tournament.
“I’m sure if it falls to me in the box then I’d be buzzing if I put it away.”
When she was then asked if she had a celebration lined up, the ace replied: “Usually anything happens.

“But, I’m under strict orders that my mates, we all got a matching tattoo before I came out.
“They want me to kiss it and do a little love heart.
“So I promised them that I’d do that.”
Toone is only the third player to score for the Lionesses in a Women’s World Cup semi-final, after Fara Williams in 2015 and Ellen White in 2019.
Sam Kerr equalised for Australia with a breathtaking strike shortly after the break but Lauren Hemp rifled the Lionesses back into the lead on 70 minutes.
