Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s angry fan encounter caught on camera at WWE event

A tense moment between actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and a fan has been caught on camera the 2024 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.

Johnson, who rose to fame as a pro wrestler before transitioning into Hollywood, was recorded telling a fan to “Watch your f–king mouth” after an angry exchange.

Videos shared to social media show Johnson, 51, walking through the crowd before stopping suddenly to address one fan.

“What did you say?” he appears to ask a man in a purple cap and white shirt.

The man responds, but his words are indecipherable in the clip. It’s unclear what he said to upset Johnson in the first place, and how he responded when confronted.

What is clear, however, is that Johnson didn’t like what he heard.

The WWE star-turned-actor shot back at the fan before turning to walk away with a scowl, glancing back to say: “That’s what I thought […] watch your f–king mouth.”

It all went down just moments after Johnson took to the stage to honour his late grandmother, Lia Maivia, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year.

Lia was a Samoan professional wrestling promoter and married to Peter Maivia, a Samoan pro wrestler in the ’60s and ’70s.

Fans rushed to social media to speculate about what the man in the crowd could have said to Johnson to elicit such an angry response.

Some wondered if the man might have insulted the 51-year-old’s late grandmother.

Others suggested the fan made a reference to fellow WWE star Cody Rhodes, who has had an on-screen rivalry with The Rock for some time now.

Rhodes recently made it clear that he doesn’t like Johnson in the real world either.

“I don’t have to like him — and I really, genuinely don’t like The Rock,” he told The MMA Hour recently.

“But I have all the respect in the world [for him]. I can spot another pro wrestler and he’s one. It’s in there.”

Others still claimed the whole angry exchange was a “PR stunt” orchestrated by WWE to drum up buzz ahead of WrestleMania 40.

Johnson returned to the ring with Roman Reigns to face off against Rhodes and world heavyweight champion Seth Rollins today. He and Reigns emerged as the victors.
