DRIVERS are set to face major changes to car tax rules from this week as DVLA reveals a new system.
The change is set to come into place from today and will see a difference in the way tax reminders are sent and how Brits view their driving licence information.

Motorists can now sign up for digital tax reminders instead of waiting for paper ones to arrive in the post.
Drivers can request texts or emails from the DVLA – making it easier for people to keep track of their records.
It is the latest phase of the DVLA’s new driver and vehicle account service.
You can now also take a look at your licence history online which will show any penalty points, fines and bans.
The DVLA is also providing a further service for youngsters who will now be able to apply for a provisional themselves.
Julie Lennard, DVLA Chief Executive said: “We are asking motorists to help us test the service.
“It’s free, and simple to sign up for an account.
“This new service is being developed and we will be adding more features but we want to give customers access as early as possible so they can try it out and let us have their feedback.”
Drivers who fail to pay their tax charges will be issued with an £80 – which is still sent to your address.
The way fines work is remaining the same with offenders having the option to may within 28 days – meaning it will be reduced by 50 per cent.
However, those who continue to refuse payment could see it rise to £1,000.
