DRIVERS have been left stunned by a video showing a useful hack for keeping your car cool and saving fuel.
TikTok star “Megan’s Bubble” regularly posts hints and tips on the social media site across a range of subjects including cars.

However this car-related hack has already been watched by more than 3.8million people and is leaving them amazed.
The video starts with the caption ‘Car tips and tricks I bet you didn’t know what this car button is actually used for…’

Megan says: “Things you should know before you’re 30, let’s go.”
It then cuts to a shot of a car’s climate control buttons and she’s pointing at the air recirculation button.
She says: “When to use this button.
“Essentially what it’s going to do for you is it means you will recirculate air inside the car.
“So if it’s extraordinarily hot inside your car when you first get in you want to turn this off so that you suck in the outside air.
“If you’re sitting in front of other cars where you’ll be getting all the exhaust fumes sucked into your car, you use this button so that it doesn’t suck in all that bad air.”
A car’s air-conditioning system uses some of the engine’s power to function, or in electric cars, battery power.
The harder it has to work, the more fuel you’ll use, so you want to get the cabin as close to your preferred temperature first without using it if possible.
This can be done by opening the windows or switching off your air-con and air-recirculation to draw in cooler air from outside.
