Drivers blown away by petrol pump ‘hack’ that keeps hands warmer this winter – but it comes with a warning

A MAN has taken to social media to reveal how he makes filling up easier.

The video TikTok, explains how a simple change in the way drivers refuel will make it easier and keep their hands warm.

Many drivers complain that their hands get cold when they refuel their cars during winter.

The video shows drivers how they can lock the pump on by using their car’s filler cap.

Meanwhile, you can keep your hands in your pockets out of the cold.

But it’s not advisable to try this for yourself despite modern pumps having an automatic shut-off function when the tank is full.

Most pumps across Europe don’t have a lock for safety reasons, but over in the US and Canada, you’re more likely to find them.

If the pump shut-off were to fail, there’s a huge risk of a fuel spill.

While the caption on the video reads: “Use your petrol cap to lock the pump.”

Despite the danger, TikTok users seemed thankful after discovering this hack that could make their lives easier.

One said: “I will now be doing this for the rest of my life, thank you.”

Another said: “Thanks for this amazing hack.”

But not everybody is able to give it a go.

One woman said: “My car doesn’t have one.”
