All it took was a few drops of hand sanitiserTiktok/@shylarsimm16
Shylar explained that her bonnet had been covered in tree sap when she went camping, with the sticky residue devilishly hard to shift from surfaces.
But she managed to bust the stain using only standard hand sanitiser.
All she did was put a few drops of sanitiser onto the stain and let it sit for a few moments before wiping it off with a cloth.
This was enough to clear the sap off the paintwork with stunning ease.
Skylar said: “It’s coming off better than [with] anything else I’ve tried.
“It’s like it was never there.
“I was a little afraid it was going to mess with my paint, which is doesn’t seem to be doing.
“Look at that, it’s gone.”
In the comments, she added that the paint and finish were completely unscathed and only the sap was removed.
The delighted driver described it as a “life hack” and added that she wished she had known about it years ago.
And the handy tip was well received by one social media user, who wrote: “I’m struggling with this same problem now.”
Fortunately, while hand sanitiser was like liquid gold during the pandemic, prices have since plummeted.
A 50ml bottle can be picked up at Boots for just 8p online.
It comes after a car cleaning expert revealed a £2 product that can rid your car of crumbs and dust in hard-to-reach spots.
Meanwhile, a former TV star explained how he found a £300,000 Aston Martin, that was once owned by a “real-life James Bond”, in a shed in Devon.
