Drivers are only just realising there’s a 99p hack for getting rid of scratches in your car in seconds

MOTORISTS are just realising they can get rid of scratches inside your car in seconds thanks to a product which costs less than a pound.

The tip, from a former employee with Ford, is to get yourself a sharpie pen which sell for just 99p on eBay.

A TikTok user, known on the social media site as “Emylicou” went online to reveal how it was done.

In a brief video clip it says: “This is a little out of the box but it’s what they showed me.”

It starts off by showing the inside of car where what appears to be the arm rest with a scratch along it.

The voiceover says: “This is how I used to fix interior scratches as a media detailer for Ford.”

It then shows a hand holding the sharpie and running it along the scratch and then using a finger to rub it in.

The expert advises that it works better with a little rubbing alcohol when rubbing the sharpie in.

It then says if the cut is a particularly deep one to cut off any “excess flash” presumably meaning any sticking out threads.

The footage then finishes up showing the ink from the sharpie being rubbed and the scratch has been noticeably reduced.

It’s been a big hit with other TikTok users has it has been viewed around 15,600 times.

While it has only generated a few comments, people were keen to ask about their own situation.

One person wrote: “What if it’s a grey interior?”

With the creator replying: “I always used some type of sharpie or expo marker if it was plastic or leather and alcohol to get it off or spread it better.”

The neat hack comes after another TikTok user showed how surface scratches on the outside of your vehicle can be cleared up using a product that costs about £1.

Earlier this month, drivers were shown how they could get rid of scratches on your paintwork by using two everyday household ingredients.

In May, another motoring expert claimed he had a “magic hack” which can remove surface scratches from cars – but not everyone was convinced.
