Drivers are only just realising nifty hack for de-icing cars in seconds with popular £3 B&M product

DRIVERS are just realising a nifty hack to de-ice their car’s windscreen in seconds.

Non-profit housing organisation United Welsh posted the handy hack on its TikTok page.

A housing organisation shared a nifty de-frosting hack with driversTikTok/@unitedwelsh

All you need is a £3 hot water bottle from B&MTikTok/@unitedwelsh

They said it would help motorists “save time in the frosty mornings”.

With the weather turning cold and temperatures hitting zero this week, the useful trick is as needed as ever.

All you have to do is fill up a hot water bottle from the kettle to act as a makeshift radiator.

Simply place it on your dashboard beneath your window and the ice should melt away in moments.

Social media commenters loved the tip.

And best of all, you can pick up a similar bottle for just £3 at B&M, keeping you cosy and your view clear.

It could even save you money, as driving with an iced-up windshield is actually an offence.

Setting off with a restricted view could see you in the dock and fined up to £1,000, as well as receiving three penalty points.

However, it is vital not to make a common error that could cost you big.

Under no circumstances let the hot water bottle touch the glass and definitely don’t rub it on the pane to try and clear it faster.

This can cause something called thermal shock, where sections of the glass heat up and expand, causing it to flex.

Chips, cracks and even a totally shattered windscreen can be the results.

Considering a full replacement can cost upwards of £1,000, it’s definitely worth making sure you avoid the dangerous error.

It comes after a motors expert explained how five quick and easy steps could help your engine last longer.

Meanwhile, a major car brand is bringing back a popular model – this time featuring a smart touchscreen.

Just make sure it doesn’t actually touch your windscreenTikTok/@unitedwelsh
