She explained that there is a hidden switch to put your rear-view mirror into anti-glare mode.
This stops the mirror from reflecting the Sun’s rays back into the car.
It’s an important safety measure as it can help motorists avoid being dazzled in the sunshine and keep their eyes on the road.
It even works at night by avoiding the light from other cars being directed into the driver’s eyes.
Just last year a study by the RAC found that 88% of Brits have been dazzled by headlight before.
Moreover almost two thirds were concerned about the risk of an accident as a result.
But it can also help to prevent fires as reflected sunlight has been known to spark blazes.
Back in May, one fire service issued an urgent warning after a pair of sunglasses left on a car’s dashboard caused a devastating fire.
Pictures showed a gaping hole where the beam of sunlight had melted a hole in the windscreen.
All you have to do is locate the small lever behind the mirror and pull it until it locks upright.
This will tilt the mirror up and redirect the light out of the rear of the car, avoiding the driver.
Social media commenters were amazed by the hack.
One wrote: “My car does it by itself which is quite cool.”
Another added: “I clicked the on the bottom on my one and got scared cause all the lights looked green, didn’t realize it was anti-glare.”
It comes after a £200,000 Porsche EV was filmed bursting into flames in China.
