Driver overtakes 20 cars queuing at lights because ‘they can’t read road signs’ – but viewers are divided

A DRIVER has divided opinion with his spirited manoeuvres through traffic – even overtaking 20 cards queuing at lights.

The viral video shows queueing cars on a typical rainy day with the traffic lights in front just turning red on a busy Bristol street.

TikToker @theamazingrman uses a dash-cam to record the footage of the multi-car line-up as he begins to pass a series of vans parked up on the inside lane.

But the parking bays soon give way to a bus route which no-one appears to want to use.

Instead the queue is just getting longer and longer, with the waiting times at the lights increasing.

We’ve all been there – thinking about making a dart up the inside to escape the misery and save a few precious minutes.

But @theamazingrman is more switched on than most.

He notices a big blue sign clearly indicating that cars are allowed to use the bus lane during certain times of the day.

Knowing that he has the full backing of the law, the savvy TikToker races up the inside.

And, just to make things a little more entertaining, the video has the soundtrack from a Formula 1 race dubbed over the top.

So, as @theamazingrman makes his move you hear F1 commentator David Croft screaming: “…but here comes Sebastian Vettel, he’s neck and neck with Lewis Hamilton.”

The clip highlights just how confusing road signs can be, and also drivers’ lack of understanding of basic road rules.

Viewers are divided, with many taking to the comments section to share their thoughts.

TikTok user AdamH said: “Haha, I do this all the time, people don’t realise that they are only part-time bus lanes. I’ve had a few arguments because people can’t read.”

Kashy replied: “The problem is no-one wants to risk getting a fine. And no-one wants to stop and read the sign if you’re not local.”

Nicksy chimed in: “Even when it’s out-of-hours I never drive in them – just in case.”
