Singer-rapper-flautist-actress Lizzo left thousands of fans in tears last night after abruptly stopping her second Sydney show mid-concert – for a special reason.
There was not a dry eye in sight at Qudos Bank Arena when the 35-year-old Grammy winner invited a young bullying victim on-stage for a very public show of support.
The little girl had nabbed the signer’s attention from the front row with a hand-made sign, prompting the venue’s cameras to pan to the young fan, who was attending the show with her mum, in the crowd.

As the cameras panned to the schoolgirl, Monroe confessed through tears she is picked on regularly at school and bullied for her dancing.
A visibly emotional Lizzo then stopped her Good as Hell routine and asked her security to safely escort the young girl on-stage to take a video to show back to her bullies.
“Don’t talk about my bestie,” Lizzo said on-stage as she recorded a video message for the young girl’s bullies her phone.

“Don’t talk about my bestie Monroe no more, you’re gonna have to go through me now,” the Truth Hurts songstress continued.
“She’s a star, she’s a diva,” she concluded her video message with as fans screamed on from the crowd.
Lizzo then pulled her young fan in for a hug and privately shared a few words with the schoolgirl with her microphone removed, before continuing her show after the young fan went back to her spot in the crowd.

It’s not the first time tears have been shed at one of Lizzo’s shows in Australia, with the singer herself performing through tears in Melbourne last week.
The About Damn Time singer addressed the emotional moment the following day on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, writing to her followers, “I had a rough day and y’all really made me feel loved. Thank you.”
Days later at her first of two Sydney shows, Lizzo joined the likes of Harry Styles and became an honorary Aussie by doing a ‘shoey’ on-stage.
Lizzo kicked off The Special Tour’s leg Down Under with a show in Perth on July 14, before making her way to Sydney via Melbourne and Splendour in the Grass in Byron Bay. Her next performance is in Auckland, New Zealand, on July 26.
