BRITS have been warned that price increases for Disney+ are “inevitable” after the company announced a subscription hike across the pond.
The House of Mouse revealed that the cost in the US will go up later this year.

And experts predict that other countries will probably follow suit.
“Price rises are inevitable and we can expect this most likely on an annual basis; akin to other services,” Paolo Pescatore from PP Foresight told The Sun.
“While there is a huge push to get users signed up, there is a greater focus on financial performance.
“Striking the right balance between the two is no easy feat.”
An ad-supported tier of Disney+ is expected to launch in the UK and the rest of Europe later this year, after starting off in the US.
Back then in December, the standard ad-free service was bumped up to $10.99 per month from $7.99, while the new ad-supported plan came in at $7.99 – effectively meaning users had to pay more if they don’t want ads, or accept them for the price they’d already been paying.
Netflix has already launched its own ad-based tier in a bid to cut costs for subscribers.
“The journey feels somewhat akin to Netflix’s path,” Paolo added.
“The rollout of a new ad-tier option makes the streaming service more affordable to the masses.
“This coupled with ongoing annual price rises should drive further growth.
“Also, the low cost ad offering might help convert freeloaders.
“During a cost of living crisis, many users and households alike will tighten their belts.
“They will no longer want to fork out huge monthly subscription fees on services they no longer use frequently.”
How to get Disney+ for free
Despite the warning, there are ways you can cut the cost of your Disney+ subscription – and even a way to get it free legally.
Lloyds Bank’s Club Lloyds card allows you to pick one free perk for 12 months, and this year a Disney+ subscription was added to the range of choices.
As long as you pay at least £2,000 into your account each month, you’ll avoid the Club Lloyds £3 monthly fee.
If you’re not able to get a Club Lloyds account, you can cut costs by converting Tesco Clubcard vouchers into three months of access.
Another way to save is by using the Priority app from Virgin Media O2.
Customers of either Virgin Media or O2 can add Disney+ to their bill and it works out £2 cheaper than usual.
