The husband and wife duo appeared on Homes Under The Hammer.
They viewed the outdated home in person for the first time admitting it had “seen better days”.
Estate agent Tom Williams said the house had a “massive amount of character” and “huge potential”.
With plans to build an extension to give the property another two rooms and a larger kitchen, Julie and Mike went over their budget making it happen.
Initially only wanting to spend £70,000 renovating, they ended up forking out £160,000.
However, the work was completed in just four months.
Julie said: “As soon as we started this build we realised that it needed a lot more money spending on it and we blew the budget out of the water.
“And I think last counted we’d spend about £160,000 now because we just kept going for better stuff, better quality products.”
When the presenter returned to see updates they described it as “sensational”.
She said: “Just look at this.
“It’s safe to say the house is unrecognisable thanks to the sensational transformation Julie and Mick have achieved here.
“It’s been a complete back-to-brick overhaul, with new electrics, plumbing and central heating.”
This wasn’t the first project the couple had taken on – but they were left worried after feeling they’d spent too much.
With a total spend of £330,000, there were concerns the home would sell for less than that.
However agent Tom valued it at a sale price between £390,000 and £420,000.
That would give the couple a pre-tax profit of £60,000 to £90,000.
It could also be rented for around £1,300 a month.
