Deontay Wilder has the power to KILL opponents as Carl Frampton issues grim warning to Anthony Joshua amid fight rumours

FORMER world champion boxer Carl Frampton has warned Anthony Joshua a fight with Deontay Wilder would be “dangerous” for him.

Earlier this week talkSPORT presenter Simon Jordan reported that a Wilder vs Joshua clash was being planned for Saudi Arabia later this year.

He also claimed Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk could take place in Saudi as well as the Middle East nation look to secure the undisputed fight.

In theory, the winners of the two fights would then face off.

Jordan’s claims come after Joshua, 33, revealed on social media that he will not be back in the ring until December.

That is despite initially planning to fight in the summer following his decision victory over Jermaine Franklin earlier this month.

Now two-weight world champion Frampton, 37, who retired in 2021, has had his say on a potential Wilder-Joshua bout.

And he feels KO artist Wilder, 37, would be a high-risk fight for Britain’s Olympic gold medallist.

Speaking on iFL TV about American Wilder, he said: “His right hand can just kill people.

“I was there when he fought Luis Ortiz and he lost every second of the fight.

“He hits him with a shot on the forehead where normally [if] you hit someone on the forehead you break your hand. But it knocked Luis Ortiz out.

“I think he [Joshua] is still a bit hesitant for someone like Wilder and it would be a very dangerous fight for him.”

Wilder has a record of 43 wins, one draw and two defeats, with 42 KO victories.

He has knocked out every man he has stepped into the ring with aside from Fury – who he dropped four times across their classic trilogy.

Former WBC champion Wilder returned to the ring for the first time since his second loss to Fury in October last year when he iced Robert Helenius in the first round.

Meanwhile, Joshua bounced back from two losses to Usyk on April 1 with an underwhelming points win over Franklin.

As well as a fight with Wilder, AJ has also been linked with bouts against Fury and Dillian Whyte.
