Becks, 48, has swapped the pitch for the boardroom in his role as Inter Miami co-owner, but he put himself to the test on a sunny afternoon at the DRVPNK stadium.

He lined up a free-kick from around 20 yards out, albeit without a wall, and curled the ball into the top corner with flawless technique.

There was nothing the goalkeeper could do to stop the strike and Beckham could not help but brag a little.

He captioned the video: “Guess I’m coming back.”

Fans were wowed by the shot and some even drew comparisons to Lionel Messi, who scored a free-kick on his Inter Miami debut last week.

One said: “Lionel Beckham.”

Another added: “The king of free-kicks.”

A third wrote: “The real goat.”
