David Beckham reveals Sir Alex Ferguson made him cut short honeymoon at West End legend’s mansion in South of France

DAVID BECKHAM revealed Sir Alex Ferguson made him cut his honeymoon short so he could get back to training.

In the Netflix Beckham documentary out today Beckham explained how Fergie demanded him to return from his vacation at West End legend Andrew Lloyd Webber’s mansion in the South of France.

The England icon, 48, married Posh Spice in July 1999 and the newlyweds went off the celebrate in the French Riveria.

But just five days into their lavish break at the Webber’s house the former Man Utd boss unexpectedly called Becks to return back to Old Trafford.

He asked Beckham to come back to training after having just won the Treble in the previous term.

Beckham said in his documentary: “We had a short honeymoon and we ended up at Andrew Lloyd Webber’s house in the South of France.

“We were meant to be there for ten days but the manager called me about five days in and said ‘I need you back in training’.”

Former team-mate Gary Neville chipped in on his thoughts of the event and said boss Fergie was always able to humble his players.

Neville said: “Ringing David up five days after his wedding is classic Sir Alex Ferguson. ‘Get back here you flash b*****d’.

“Sir Alex Ferguson had an uncanny habit of bringing you back down to earth.”

The Man Utd legend went on to lead the Red Devils to another Premier League title in the 1999-2000 season.

During his incredible 23-year career Ferguson accumulated 13 Premier League titles, five FA Cups and two Champions League titles.
