David and Victoria Beckham ignite new row with neighbours over $23m country estate

Victoria and David Beckham have allegedly reignited their neighbourly feud with a fresh dispute after being accused of “secretly trying to build a new home” at their Cotswolds estate.

The power couple have reportedly submitted a request to the local council to build a luxury greenhouse across from their country estate which will include three office spaces and a bathroom.

However, this plan has seemingly angered those around the Beckhams with The Sun reporting that neighbours find the upgrade to be “needless” and “pointless”.

“Surely this is just a back-door way of trying to turn this barn into a residential property. It is a barn and should remain so.”

This is not the first row the Beckhams have found themselves in with neighbours.

According to The Sun, the British It couple have begun working on a road at their £12 million (approx. $23.3 million) Cotswolds home, before even getting permission to do so.

The road would serve as an alternate route while construction on their new glasshouse and raised kitchen garden (which has been approved for building) is underway.

The road is allegedly an “existing farm track” the Beckhams want to turn into a “temporary construction access track” for the two-year-long renovation project.

Neighbours were quick to slam the Beckhams for using their celebrity status to obtain council approvals.

One wrote online, ”If it had been anyone else but the Beckhams this would have been thrown out ages ago, but they can afford fancy lawyers to find holes in the council’s policies and exploit them.

“That sort of approach just isn’t open to ordinary people who can’t afford such luxuries.”

One neighbour even wrote to West Oxfordshire District Council, telling them, “It is a needless use of materials. There is already an access road to the property so what is the point of laying another road just to build a fancy greenhouse?”

The couple have also previously come under fire from locals after it was revealed that they planned to build a lake on the extensive property.

They ended up winning their approval from the council under the condition that motorised boats were not to be used in the man-made lake.
