Unfortunately, they had recently stopped using the almighty pain reliever, the green whistle, telling Hughesy he would have to wait for the ambulance.

“They said, we’ll ring an ambulance and they did, but the ambulance never turned up. I was on the beach for an hour crying,” the comedian said before describing the incident as the “most tragic accident of my life.”

Thankfully, he was later taken to hospital and treated for his dislocation, now in a sling.

His post continued: “Shoulder dislocation whilst surfing. ‘9 out of 10 level nerve damage.’ Shout out to wife, @surfersparadiseslsc, and GC medical professionals for their much needed help! Will be in a sling for a while, not sure when my next right-handed high five will be.”
