Cristiano Ronaldo STILL goalless for Al-Nassr as ex-Man Utd star misses chance at first Saudi trophy in Super Cup shock

CRISTIANO RONALDO is still goalless for Al-Nassr after failing to score on his second appearance.

And Ronnie has also missed the chance to scoop his first trophy in Saudi Arabia as his side were dumped out of the Super Cup semis with a 3-1 defeat at Al-Ittihad.

The ex-Manchester United star, 37, linked up with his new side following a dismal World Cup with Portugal.

And fans got a glimpse of their new man as he starred in Riyadh All-Star’s 5-4 friendly defeat to Lionel Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain.

Ronaldo was named man of the match as he netted twice against the French giants.

But his start to life at Al-Nassr has not been quite as smooth.

Ronnie failed to have a single shot on target in Sunday’s narrow 1-0 win over Ettifaq.

And the legend, who is being paid £64million a YEAR in the Middle East, failed to hit the target again as his side crashed out of the Saudi Super Cup.

Ronaldo cut a frustrated figure as his side dominated with 64 per cent possession, but only got three shots on target to Al-Ittihad’s five.

The hosts were 2-0 up at the break before Ronaldo’s compatriot Talisca pulled one back for Al-Nassr in the second half.

But despite huffing and puffing, Ronnie’s men could not find an equaliser before Al-Ittihad put the game to bed with a third goal at the death.

It means Ronaldo will not be able to compete for his first trophy in this Sunday’s Super Cup final.

But with Al-Nassr top of the Pro League with a game in hand, he will be hoping to at least end the season with a shiny new title.

The super-rich side continue to be linked with more signings, notably Ronnie’s former Real Madrid pal Sergio Ramos.

Al-Nassr are also thought to be keen on another ex-teammate in Luka Modric.

And Real’s Eden Hazard and Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus are being considered to join Ronaldo in attack.

Meanwhile, his successor at Man Utd – Wout Weghorst – is certainly having a better time it.

United fans believe the Dutchman is already proving to be a more valuable asset after he got his first goal in the Carabao Cup semi win at Nottingham Forest.

And one cheeky supporter declared: “Weghorst scored more goal than Ronaldo in 2023. Weghorst played in the best league in the world while Ronaldo played in Saudi just saying.”
