Cricket legend Phil Tufnell reveals surprising new skill he’s had to learn at the age of 57

EX-cricket star Phil Tufnell has only just learned the art of washing clothes — despite once being the spin king of England.

The I’m A Celeb champ, 57, confessed he has been using a machine for the first time because his wife Dawn is recovering from surgery.

Tuffers, who played 42 Tests as a left-arm spin bowler from 1990 to 2001, said: “I didn’t know what a dark wash was, and you’ve got to get the temperatures right as well.

“It’s been a whole new world for me, but I don’t mind.

“I’ve quite enjoyed it.”

Now a cricket pundit, Tuffers said he has been making three meals a day, adding: “Chillis, spag bols.

“I can knock up a thousand things with mince.

“I think Dawn bears it.”

He said his third wife, who he calls the “duchess”, is “getting better every day” — and it makes a long-overdue change for him to look after her.

But he admitted he was not on top of all the chores, adding: “Crikey, I haven’t even had time to think about the dusting.

“I’ve been going to bed about half eight absolutely shattered.”
