Cosmetic fillers are going out of fashion as women embrace more natural looks

COSMETIC fillers are going out of fashion as women embrace more natural looks, say experts — and fear blunders from cowboy beauticians.

Aesthetic doctors believe that pumped-up lips and cheeks have had their day.

They say that more advanced procedures which make the skin look younger are taking off as trends change.

People are also becoming more aware of the risks of treatment by rogue practitioners.

The British College of Aesthetic Medicine said that this year members fixed 3,523 cases where a procedure done elsewhere had gone wrong — up from 3,323 in 2022.

Dr Ed Robinson, who works from private clinics in Cheshire, said: “Fewer of my clients are asking for fillers and I expect numbers to keep falling next year.

“There’ll be a boom in new treatments that improve skin quality rather than changing the shape of a face.”

The Sun has called for tighter regulation on who can perform treatments with our Had Our Fill campaign, and the Department of Health is currently drawing up new laws.

Lax rules mean practitioners can currently set up with only a few days of basic training.
