Coronation Street star Joan Savage has died aged 89 leaving behind a 60-year legacy in the show business industry.
The actress was reported to have died peacefully at her home in Twikenham earlier this month, with no cause of death yet revealed.
Savage spent more than six decades in the showbusiness industry, meaning she was an entertainer for most of her life.

Best known for her five-episode stint in ITV soap series Coronation Street, the actress played Celeste Pickersgill, the dance partner of long-term character Norris Cole, played by Malcolm Hebden.
Prior to her Coronation Street gig, the actress starred in an episode of hit sitcom Dad’s Army in 1972 and made multiple appearances in The Arthur Haynes Show between 1956 and 1962.
The star was not restricted in show business, venturing beyond acting and into music, theatre and entertainment.

While touring as the leading lady in a George and Alfred Black revue called Music and Madness the actress met Ken Morris who went on to become her husband and partner in performance.
The duo became renowned household names, performing and singing together, appearing on a number of advertisements and big shows at the time and starring in Hi Summer, The Black and White Minstrel Show, The Jack Jackson Show and The Arthur Haynes Show.
Outside of their joint career, Savage also established herself as a solo artist, creating popular love songs and performing comedy.

Shortly after welcoming a daughter together in 1960, Morris was diagnosed with a brain tumour and died on July 3, 1968.
Four years later, Savage remarried, tying the knot with husband Bryan in November 1972.
She continued her work in show business, performing in a variety of shows and even winning the Nordring Radio Prize in 1974 for her singing.
In a tribute to her mother, Kelly said: “Mum always used to say ‘I’d like to go with my tap shoes on’ so the last few years have been extremely difficult for her and us as a family.”
“I hope she’s reunited with her show biz contemporaries and putting on a show up there!” she added.

Friends of the actress also took to social media to pay homage to the star.
“Our dear friend, the remarkable Joan Savage, passed away recently,” Cheryl Forbes wrote on X.
“She was a real star and absolutely brilliant at everything she did,” she continued. “An actress, comedienne, singer, impressionist and dancer.
“She was truly a very special talent.”
Savage is survived by her husband Bryan, her daughter Kelly and her two grandkids.
