Conor McGregor’s training partner Dillon Danis reveals he signed to fight Logan Paul until WWE star injured his knee

DILLON DANIS revealed he “100 per cent signed” to fight Logan Paul until injury scrapped the boxing bout.

Paul was due to co-headline a pay-per-view event alongside his former opponent-turned business partner KSI.

But the YouTube star suffered a horror knee injury when challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal title.

Paul underwent surgery and the injury forced his boxing return to the scrapped.

And Danis instead agreed to fight KSI on January 14 in London.

He told the MMA Hour: “I was supposed to fight Logan. I don’t know if you know this.Logan was completely signed, 100 per cent signed.

“And we were going to announce it on the same date then he did that match with Roman Reigns, and he blew his knee out.

“And then they were like, ‘Do you want to wait for Logan?’ so I could have waited for Logan.

“But he was like ‘I don’t know about my knee; I could be out for six months.’ I’m like ‘dude I’ve been out long enough, I’m going to fight’ so I took KSI.

“I wanted Logan more because we had more beef with the Pauls and stuff.

“It would have been in Houston where the Houston Rockets play, the Toyota Centre.

“I’d rather be here, I don’t want to go to London, but I run London too.”

Paul, 27, has not boxed since taking American legend Floyd Mayweather, 45, the distance in their June 2021 exhibition.

Danis, 27, meanwhile has a 2-0 MMA record but is yet to fight since 2019 after suffering from knee injuries himself.

The jujitsu expert, most commonly known as Conor McGregor’s training partner, is set to make his boxing debut.
