THE lawyer representing Conor McGregor’s sexual assault accuser has hit back at the fighter’s ‘shakedown’ claims – saying the “the video is clear”.

The woman claims McGregor “aggressively kissed” her following the Denver Nuggets’ win against Miami Heat in Florida on June 9.
But the Dublin native branded the allegation against him as “false” and a “shakedown”.
Video footage was published by TMZ was shows the Irish fighter wearing a black T-shirt as he moves through a crowd at Miami’s Kaseya Center.
He moves towards a woman, and after a short exchange of words leads her away by the hand.
Seconds later, they appear to enter the men’s bathroom.
McGregor’s lawyer claimed that the footage suggests the alleged victim changed her story.
In a statement, she said: “Mr. McGregor welcomes the investigation, which he firmly believes will show the claims against him are false.
“After not responding to the demand for money made by claimant’s counsel, she turned to the media to apply pressure.
“This is no more than a shakedown.”
McGregor has denied any wrong doing.
The woman has given cops her clothes for DNA analysis but there has been no suggestion that McGregor has been arrested.
Lawyers say the woman is seeking settlements with the NBA, the Heat and McGregor.
But hitting back at the shakedown suggestions, Ariel Mitchell, who is representing the alleged victim, said the video footage released “is clear”.
He said: “Mr. McGregor‘s team can say this is a shakedown, these allegations are false, but the video is clear.
“A soon to be married man with a fourth baby on the way is himself leading a woman, he doesn’t know and not his pregnant fiancée, into the bathroom.”
EXPLANATION CALL
In a statement to Fox News, he added: “Until Conor’s team offers an explanation to that, we are not interested in commenting further. We are working with the police and have been since the onset of this incident. We are looking forward to Justice being served.”
A UFC spokesperson said: “The organization is aware of the recent allegations regarding Conor McGregor and will continue to gather additional details regarding the incident.
“UFC will allow the legal process to play out before making any additional statements.”
A Miami Heat spokesperson added: “We are aware of the allegations and are conducting a full investigation.”
The City of Miami Police Department said: “At this time all we can confirm is that MPD’s Special Victims Unit is investigating a report that was filed Sunday, June 11, 2023.
“This is an open investigation so no additional information can be released at this time.”
The claims have surfaced less than 24 hours after it emerged McGregor and his fiancee Dee Devlin are expecting their fourth child.
