Conor McGregor urged to fight Jorge Masvidal by Michael Bisping who says UFC star is ‘never seeing’ lightweight again

CONOR McGREGOR has been urged to fight Jorge Masvidal this year by UFC legend Michael Bisping.

McGregor is braced for a huge comeback after spending the entirety of 2022 sidelined.

He has not fought since July 2021 when he broke his leg in the first round of his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier, 34.

McGregor spent last year rehabilitating from the horror injury while making his Hollywood debut in a Roadhouse reeboot.

The Irishman has since bulked up in weight, leaving Bisping certain his days at lightweight are over.

And it could pave the way for a blockbuster against former welterweight title challenger Masivdal, 37, who is coming off three losses himself.

Bisping said on his podcast: “This is the big one; Masvidal. Masvidal and Conor. Conor’s ‘walking around like a fridge these days.

“He wants to fight at 185, right? He’s walking around calling himself a fridge.

“He’s never seeing 155 again or maybe he is, but not on his first fight back. They’re both strikers, they’ve both lost a few fights recently.

“So, in terms of the trajectories of their careers, both are kind of on a bit of a skid, they’ve both been out for a little bit.

“As a fan, their styles would make for an amazing fight.”

Masvidal was beaten twice by ex-champion Kamaru Usman, 35, in his two failed title challenges.

And last March he lost to best friend-turned bitter enemy Colby Covington, 34, not returning since the loss.

McGregor last year revealed he is aiming to return at welterweight and Michael Chandler, 36, was a frontrunner to welcome him back.
