CONOR MCGREGOR has been told a fight with his bitter rival Nate Diaz’s brother Nick would be the most lucrative bout for his octagon return.
The UFC’s poster boy is seemingly primed and ready to return to the cage this year after recovering from the horrific broken leg he suffered in July 2021.

McGregor has several options available to him for his comeback bout, which rising UFC star Sean O’Malley reckons would do gigantic numbers if he were to face Nick Diaz.
Suga told Helen Yee: “The biggest fight, as far as pay-per-view sales I’d say Nick Diaz, would be the biggest.”
Former two-division champion McGregor has history with the Diaz family having fought Nate twice in 2016.
But he has the utmost respect for Nick, who he recently hailed for visiting cancer patients at the hospital.
Upon seeing the snap of Nick posing with patients, McGregor wrote: “Real fighting legend.”
McGregor previously hailed Nick’s effort in his ill-fated return to the octagon against Robbie Lawler in September 2021.
He tweeted: “Nick/Rob was a good fight.
“The spin kick at the start gave the ground on Nick but he was veteran composed and was peppering lovely shots in.

“He just ate some big body shots and there was more coming Robbie was strong to the body it was veteran work all around.
“I enjoyed thoroughly.”
McGregor hasn’t set foot inside the octagon since breaking his leg in his UFC 264 trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier.
But the Irishman plans to return to action early this year – provided he can get an exemption to the UFC and USADA’s six-month drug testing pool requirement.
The UFC’s first simultaneous world champion said in October: “I’m going to be back soon, hopefully.

“Early 2023 I’m aiming for. Sometime in that first quarter.
“That will give me a good couple of months [to prepare].
“Once I wrap this [filming Road House] up in a couple of days, get the camp going [for] a good couple of months. And get going.”
The following month, he said: “I’m clear for testing in February.
“I will complete my two tests per USADA & we are booking a fight.”
