Conor McGregor says UFC rival Nate Diaz will ‘slap the head off’ Jake Paul – but he won’t be at fight

But he won’t be there to watch the surprise showdown this summer.

The duo collide in Texas after years of bad blood

Diaz and Paul will clash on August 5 in Dallas, Texas, following years of bad blood and public jabs.

Diaz is free to move into boxing after seeing his UFC contract come to an end.

And fight fans will be curious to see how the event pans out after Paul’s recent defeat to Tommy Fury — his first in seven bouts.

Meanwhile, Diaz has proven himself to be a top brawler with 22 wins from 35 MMA competitions.

He was even caught up in a wild street brawl this weekend after a controversial appearance at a Misfits boxing event.

But Diaz’s long-time UFC enemy McGregor only sees the fight going in one direction.

The Irishman, who has fought Diaz twice, reckons his arch-rival will wipe the floor with Paul.

But McGregor does not plan on watching the fight in person.

That’s because he plans on taking his luxury sports car for a spin in Sicily.

McGregor declared: “I think Nate Diaz slaps his head off and I’m looking forward to seeing it.

“[Will I be there?] I’ll probably be in the Lamborghini on the coast of Sicily. I think it’s Nate.”

Confirming his fight with Paul last week, Diaz said: “Besides Canelo he’s the biggest thing in boxing. I’m here to conquer that. I’m the King of combat sports and then I’m headed back to get my UFC belts.

“I f***ed up Conor for acting out and now here I am again, like a Super Hero of the Real Fight game, the King of the Real Fight game.”

Paul added: “My last fight didn’t end the way I wanted, but the result was the best thing that could have happened to my professional boxing aspirations.

“Now, the world thinks I am vulnerable, when all I am is more focused than ever. My team wanted me to take an easy fight like KSI next, but that’s not how I am built.

“Nate Diaz is considered one of the most bad-ass fighters of all time, but he and his team have been running their mouths for too long.

“People tell me Nate has been training with Andre Ward for years. That he has insane stamina. That he refuses to back down. Good for f***ing Nate.

“I haven’t forgotten about the slap backstage in Arizona, and on August 5, a Problem Child is going to piece up and knock out the Stockton G.”
