CONOR MCGREGOR has received a shock public offer to fight at UFC 300.
The MMA superstar is gearing up to make his long-awaited return to the octagon against Michael Chandler, although a date for their showdown has yet to be finalised.

McGregor, 35, is champing at the bit to get back in the octagon, so much so he’s staying up late and watching each passing pay-per-view card.
The Irishman was up in the early hours of Sunday morning to watch Israel Adesanya‘s shock defeat to Sean Strickland at UFC 293.
During the broadcast, he took exception to the commentators mentioning Alexander Volkanovski’s status as the sport’s pound-for-pound king.
He tweeted: “Ask my b****x that little sausage Volkonovski is no way P4P 1. Silly.
“That’s quick work for me. 100% accuracy work. Readable. Hittable. Hurtable.
“I like he has this title tho we should fight at some stage so the FW goats will have all faced off and let there be no debate.”
It didn’t take long for Volkanovski to get wind of McGregor’s Twitter tirade, which prompted him to lay down the gauntlet.
The 145lbs king tweeted: “Let’s do it at #UFC300 @TheNotoriousMMA.”

Former two-division champion McGregor hasn’t set foot inside the octagon since breaking his leg over two years ago.
The Notorious shattered his left leg in his Las Vegas trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier and has undergone a painstaking rebab to get himself fighting fit.
His comeback clash with fellow fan favourite Chandler – his rival coach on season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter – was announced in February.
Their showdown was expected to take place on the UFC’s final pay-per-view event of the year on December 16.
But McGregor’s continued absence from the United States Anti-Doping Agency’s drug testing pool has seemingly delayed the bout.
McGregor left the pool not long after shattering his leg and must – unless he’s given an exemption – be in it for a minimum of six months before he’s eligible to compete.
UFC president Dana White insists the fight is still in the works and will likely take place in 2024 – despite the delay in announcing it.
During an appearance on Crain & Company, he said: “To not do that fight will be ridiculous.
“We’re working on it. I’m hoping we can do it early next year.”
