He reacted to the calamitous error on Instagram while sharing a video of lengthy queues of customers taking out hefty sums on Tuesday evening.

The MMA star/pub owner captioned it: “Straight into The Black Forge with yous, big money ballers, congrats.”

However, there is no such thing as a free lunch and as it turns out, no such thing as free money either.

Bank of Ireland has warned that anyone who indulged on Tuesday will have to repay what they took out in full.

It was also confirmed that the widespread outage of its services has been resolved.

The app and 365 banking are both back online and working again.

The bank confirmed that all services should be available to its customers again and that overnight payments may appear in customers’ accounts today.

A spokesperson told The Irish Sun: “Yesterday a technical issue impacted a number of Bank of Ireland’s services.

“Our teams restored these services overnight and all services are available to customers this morning. Overnight payments to accounts may appear throughout the day.

“We are aware that the technical issue meant some customers were able to withdraw or transfer funds above their normal limits.

“These transfers and withdrawals will be applied to customers accounts today.”

The statement added: “We urge any customer who may find themselves in financial difficulty due to overdrawing on their account to contact us.

“We sincerely apologise for the disruption this outage caused – we know we fell far below the standards our customers expect from us.”

REVOLUT REVOLT

The error reportedly allowed people with minimal bank balances in their account to transfer cash not in their accounts to their Revolut cards.

Some people claimed they were able to get access to €1,000 but the bank insisted the daily withdrawal limit is €500.

Once people could use their Bank of Ireland app to transfer the funds to Revolut they could then reportedly withdraw the cash from the Revoult account through any ATM.
