Conor McGregor drops biggest hint yet around UFC return that leaves fans excited for 2023 ‘revenge tour’

FANS OF Conor McGregor were left with goosebumps after he shared a hype video while promising his return to the octagon.

The Notorious has multiple commercial avenues these days including a budding acting career but has always maintained his fighting days aren’t behind him.

That sentiment was hammered home in his latest social media post.

Alongside the clip of UFC announcer Bruce Buffer introducing him as ‘the one and only Conor McGregor’, he said ‘Excited for my return to the UFC!’

Despite having lost four of his last five fights (if you include the boxing bout against Floyd Mayweather), his bulletproof self-confidence remains intact.

On top of that alarming recent win-loss record is the fact that it’s not all that recent as that portion of his career has seen him average one bout per year.

Now 34 and coming off a broken leg in his last fight in July 2021, it’s a diminishing pool of fans who still believe he can reclaim his spot atop the MMA world.

But such is his global level of superstardom, each social media post still attracts legions of adoring comments from loyal supporters who maintain he can silence all of his doubters in 2023.

One replied ‘Time to repeat history’, referencing his spell as double-champion while another said ‘We all are!!’

Similarly, one avid follower commented ‘Conor revenge tour incoming’ while another person stated ‘I will be paying my hard earned money to watch!’

BIG TALK

In another boastful post over the weekend, McGregor vowed to ‘slice through someone’ when he does makes his eventual return.

He tweeted: “I’m going to slice through someone on return.

“Trust that. And I don’t care who. Line up.”

That was followed up by an emphatic message to anyone who wishes to share the octagon with him.

Alongside a photo of himself sitting down and looking pumped after a gruelling workout, the Dubliner wrote: “Bitta cardio, ya’s’r f***ed.”

POTENTIAL RETURN TIMELINE

The UFC’s poster boy is hoping to return to the cage before the end of the spring.

During an impromptu Instagram Q&A last October, he said: “I’m going to be back soon, hopefully.

“Early 2023 I’m aiming for. Sometime in that first quarter.

“That will give me a good couple of months [to prepare].

“Once I wrap this up in a couple of days, get the camp going [for] a good couple of months.

“And get going.”
