McGregor was brought on the court during the half-time interval and knocked down Heat mascot ‘Burnie’ with a pre-planned punch.
But his follow-up strike on the ground is said to have left Burnie needing medical treatment at the nearby hospital.
That’s according to The Athletic, who claim he was transported to “the emergency room of a nearby hospital for treatment.”
Thankfully for McGregor and the Heat, Burnie was sent on his way after being given a once-over and some painkillers.
The former UFC champion was confronted over the incident by TMZ Sports in New York.
And McGregor, 34, said: “The mascot is good. It was a skit, and all is well.
“I spent a lot of time with him afterward, we talked it out, everything is great. It was all part of the show.”
McGregor is in training for his long-awaited UFC return later this year against fellow fan favourite Michael Chandler, 37.

But a date for their eagerly anticipated showdown has not yet been announced after the two coached against each other on The Ultimate Fighter.
But McGregor claimed the fight will be officially announced before this season of TUF draws to a close.
It will be his first bout since July 2021, when he broke his leg in the opening round against Dustin Poirier.
