Colleen Hoover’s “It Ends With Us” Is Being Turned Into a Movie With Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni

Colleen Hoover’s bestseller “It Ends With Us” is getting the movie treatment! On Jan. 26, Deadline exclusively confirmed that Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni will star in the upcoming film, which is being developed with Wayfarer Studios and Sony Pictures. The 39-year-old “Jane the Virgin” actor will also serve as director, while Lively, 35, will pull double duty as well as executive producer along with Steve Sarowitz, Andrew Calof, and Baldoni.

Hoover’s 2016 novel, which is loosely based on her mother, follows a girl named Lily who meets a charming neurosurgeon named Ryle after having just moved and finishing college. Despite his no-dating rule, Ryle makes an exception for Lily, and the two quickly develop a romance. However, not long after, Lily’s first love, Atlas, reenters her life, and her relationship with Ryle is put to the test.

While Baldoni’s rep declined to comment further on the movie announcement and Lively’s rep did not immediately respond to POPSUGAR’s request, Baldoni celebrated the news on Instagram. Alongside a video of Hoover’s cast announcement, Baldoni wrote, “Here we go!!!!” Lively also seemed to respond by posting a sultry photo on her Instagram Stories debuting her darker hair color.

A release date for “It Ends With Us” has yet to be announced, but keep reading for everything we know about the film so far.
