Christian Pulisic set to be next victim of Chelsea clearout but Blues will make MASSIVE loss in deal with Italian side

AC MILAN have upped their offer for Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic to £17million with “negotiations advancing” fast over a transfer deal.

The 24-year-old American winger only has 12 months remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge.

Pulisic was signed from Borussia Dortmund for £58m in 2019 but he has struggled to become a permanent fixture in the starting XI under the four different managers he has played under.

And he has now seemingly been deemed surplus to requirements and has been “pushing” for a switch to Milan despite Mauricio Pochettino’s arrival.

He has made 145 appearances for Chelsea and scored 26 goals and was part of the 2021 Champions League winning side.

Now he is set to be part of the huge transfer clearout, with Mason Mount the latest to depart, from the Blues this summer despite seeing a loan move to Manchester United collapse 12 months ago.

Newcastle, Napoli and Juventus have all shown interest in Pulisic over the past year also but have so far failed to produce a serious offer.

It then looked set to come down to a straight fight between Italian side Milan and French club Lyon for his signature.

Milan were ready to pay £12m – but the Blues wanted more after Lyon tabled a bid of at least £21.5m.

However, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has offered an update on the situation and it looks like it is all systems go for the Serie A giants.

He tweeted: “AC Milan have improved their bid for Christian Pulisic. It’s new formal, official proposal around €20m.

“Negotiations advancing, Pulisic wants Milan as priority. He’s pushing for Milan since last week.”

Now it remains to be seen whether that will be enough for Chelsea to accept the offer and grant the ace his wish.

He will link-up with his former Chelsea team-mates Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Fikayo Tomori and Olivier Giroud at the Rossoneri should the deal go ahead.
