Chris Evans confirms marriage to Alba Baptista, shares wedding details

Audiences at New York City Comic Con were likely craning their necks to see actor Chris Evans on stage – or rather, a tiny detail on his left hand.

Speaking at the Javits Center on October 14, the Marvel actor finally confirmed what fans suspected: “I got married,” he said, flashing a gold wedding band on his left ring finger as he talked.

He shared details of the two weddings he and his new wife, Portuguese actress Alba Baptista, held.

“It was really, really great,” he shared, “We kinda had two ceremonies. We had one on the East Coast. We did one in Portugal. My wife’s Portuguese. Yeah, go Portugal!”

He did admit he was tired out by the planning of two separate ceremonies.

“They were wonderful and beautiful. It’s a lot planning a wedding. For those of you who are married, it takes a lot out of you.

“Now that we’re through that, we’ve just kinda been enjoying life, gearing up for autumn, my favorite season. It’s, like, the best time of year right now. Now we’re just relaxing and enjoying life and reflecting.”

Rumours that the secretive couple had wed were sparked one month ago when an insider told Page Six that Evans, 42 and Baptista, 26, had wed in an intimate ceremony held at their Boston, Massachusetts home.

The source says that guests were asked to sign NDAs (non-disclosure agreements) and forfeit their phones, claiming the “beautiful” ceremony was “locked down tight”.

They also said that there were some famous faces among the guests, with Evans’ Marvel co-stars, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner, believed to be in attendance.

The newlyweds were first linked in 2021 when Baptista followed him and some of his family members on Instagram, but it was not until they were spotted walking around New York City holding hands in 2022 that they became public.
