Chelsea will let Trevoh Chalobah leave this transfer window with Spurs keen but there could be a huge catch

TREVOH CHALOBAH may yet leave Chelsea this month despite his injury woes.

The defender is yet to play this season and has been dogged by a nagging hamstring problem.

But the frustrated centre back is nearing fitness – meaning there is still a chance a deal could be struck for him to get a fresh start away from Stamford Bridge.

The team has started winning games despite injuries in the back line with full backs Reece James, Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella all crocked.

Chalobah suffered a setback to his hamstring problem in October and is being cautious about pushing himself too hard to come back.

But, with the transfer window open, now there is hope he will be fit in time in order to get a move away – most likely a loan with a view to a permanent transfer.

Chalobah has been linked with Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham previously.

The development comes as Chelsea reportedly weigh up a move for Benfica central defender Antonio Silva.

Manchester United have also been linked with the seven-cap Portugal star, 20.

Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile have struggled to justify their recent moves to Stamford Bridge.

And current defensive mainstay Thiago Silva will be 40 in September.

It’s claimed the Blues have held talks with Benfica over an initial £52million deal – including Armando Broja – for the younger Silva.

But the Portuguese giants are said to want his full £87million release clause.
