But now he has joined Forest as he embarks on a new challenge in the Premier League.

And he will wear the No14 shirt at the City Ground as he links up with manager Steve Cooper – who he won the 2018 World Youth Cup with,

After joining the club, Hudson-Odoi said: “It’s massive for me to be here and I can’t wait to get started. It’s a new chapter for me.

“I know a couple of the boys already which was a big thing for me, and I obviously know the manager well, so it’s nice to be here and see familiar faces around.

“Forest is a big club which won two massive trophies in its history and I’m really excited to play at The City Ground.

“I know all about the atmosphere having watched a couple of times and I can’t wait to get playing in front of the Forest fans.”

He also had a message for Chelsea fans, tweeting: “To the Blue Army.

“The time has come for me to bid Chelsea FC farewell. For the longest time, Chelsea has been my home. My best memories will always be playing in front of you all at The Bridge.

Four years ago, Bayern Munich were prepared to pay £40m to sign Hudson-Odoi – who received three England caps around that time.

But his stock has fallen dramatically since then.

He has contributed just 16 goals and 22 assists in 126 appearances for Chelsea.

And he was sent out on loan to Bayer Leverkusen last season in search of game time.

However, that German venture was a disappointing one as he contributed just one goal and one assist in 21 games.

Now he will be hoping to turn over a new leaf at Forest – who have picked up three points from their opening three games.

Defeats to Arsenal and Man Utd have been sandwiched in between a win over Sheffield United.

Cooper’s men take on Hudson-Odoi’s former club Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, although he won’t be eligible to play.
