Chelsea flops enjoyed Christmas party hours after Everton humiliation in posh Mayfair restaurant and nightclub

CHELSEA players still went ahead with their Christmas party on Sunday despite it coming just hours after their defeat to Everton.

The Telegraph report that captain Reece James decided to still go ahead with the social gathering for team bonding purposes.

Chelsea players headed straight from Merseyside to Mayfair where they dined at Bagatelle.

They then headed to exclusive Soho night club Tape.

Maurico Pochettino reportedly gave his blessing for his players to go ahead with the celebrations – feeling it unnecessary to cancel it in the aftermath of the disappointing defeat to Everton.

James had already requested Pochettino’s permission for the night out as a Christmas party but changed the nature of the outing to a team bonding session in light of their latest disappointing result.

Chelsea bosses are understood to recognise the need for the team to develop their personal relationships off the field.

And Pochettino feels that is an important aspect too, and feels the night out was a positive.

Bagatelle is one of Mayfair’s most expensive restaurants where a pasta dish will set you back £48.

A salad will cost as much as £25 and the menu even has its own section for caviar.

Chelsea players could commiserate their result with 125 grams of Kristal caviar for £720.

Or if they’d prefer the cheaper option, they could opt for Beluga for £420.

Tape nightclub is a favourite among sportsmen and celebrities, with the likes of Logan Paul, Usain Bolt, Lewish Hamilton and Shakira all frequenting the Soho venue.
