CHELSEA have reportedly opened talks to rehire Frank Lampard as manager.
The news comes after the club held talks with Luis Enrique about the vacant manager’s position at the club.

However, the club icon is believed to be ready to help the Blues on a short term basis after the sacking of Graham Potter.
According to The Guardian and The Athletic, Lampard could even take charge for the match against Wolves this weekend if talks go well.
The 44-year-old played for the club for over a decade, winning everything on offer.
After retiring, he then was the head coach at the club after a spell at Derby until he was sacked in 2021.
The report suggests that the club are “progressing” with their attempts to hire a long-term coach.
Enrique is believed to be one option for the club, while there are also links to former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann.
But the Spaniard is the frontrunner for the job after talks with the Blues top brass in London.
Enrique jetted into the capital with his adviser Ivan de la Pena for talks with the Stamford Bridge hierarchy and on his return joked with journalists.

He said: “I’ve come from Formentera, it is a beautiful island, like paradise. A wonderful island and I would advise everyone to go there.”
Enrique was clearly playing around and it is believed he is keen to take the job after successful talks.
He quit as manager of his national team following the World Cup last year and had planned to wait until the summer before stepping back into work.
Potter was sacked by Chelsea after the club’s defeat to Aston Villa on the weekend.
Since then Bruno Saltor has taken temporary charge and was in the dugout for the 0-0 draw against Liverpool on Tuesday evening.
