Cheapest place to buy pigs in blankets this week to stock up for Christmas – and you can save up to 50%

PIGS in blankets are undoubtedly one of the most exciting and best parts about Christmas.

Whether it’s part of your turkey dinner or a perfect party snack, everyone who loves them just can’t get enough.

But with so many different types being sold by just as many supermarkets, it’s hard to know which one’s to get.

Luckily for you, we’ve compiled a list of the cheapest pigs in blankets you can buy as the perfect festive treat.

But remember, these prices are subject to change at any time, especially at this time of year, so it’s advised that you also do your own research.

You can use the price comparison site Trolley.co.uk to check the online prices of items across different supermarkets.

We did all of our price checking online, so you also want to bear in mind that you might get a better offer in the actual store.

Here is a list of the best deals we found for a pack of 12 pigs in blankets.

Aldi

£1.49 for 12 – 240g

£0.05 per 100g

It may come as no surprise to see Aldi at the top of this list but it is the German supermarket which offers the best price for a pack of 12 pigs in blankets.

For just £1.49, you would be forgiven for getting carried away and buying a whole basketful of these festive favourites, which average out at 12p each.

You can also buy Aldi’s Specially Selected range of pigs in blankets which come in packs of ten and offer a chorizo version for 50p more.

Lidl

£1.99 for 12 – 240g

£0.08 per 100g

The second cheapest place to buy your pigs in blankets is Lidl, which sells a pack of 12 for a respectable £1.99.

However, a side note is that these are from the frozen section, so perhaps something to bear in mind.

Nonetheless, coming in at just 8p per 100g is an impressive feat – although these can only be bought in-store and not online.

Asda

£2.25 for 12 – 300g

£0.75 per 100g

Asda is up next with its £2.25 pigs in blankets and although they are 75p more expensive than those from Aldi, they weigh slightly more.

You can also pick up a pack of 12 Maple Pigs In Blankets for the same price, although these weigh less at 232g, while 12 Cheesy Pigs In Blankets cost £2.75.

As well as this, Asda provides its own “Extra Special” range of pigs in blankets that come in at £4, although you have the option to try their Truffle & Parmesan ones.

Tesco

£2.50 for 12 – 222g

£1.13 per 100g

Tesco sits joint-fourth for the cheapest pigs in blankets, with a pack of 12 costing you £2.50.

These are also some of the lightest ones on offer at 222g but you can at least get 12 Pork Apple & Cranberry Pigs In Blankets for the same price.

Frozen ones cost an extra 50p at £3, while Tesco has teased on its website that 30 pigs in blankets for £10 will be coming soon.

Morrisons

£2.50 for 12 – 210g

£1.19 per 100g

Joint-fourth with Tesco for the cheapest pigs in blankets is Morrisons, although these ones weigh even less at 210g – working out to £1.19 per 100g.

Classed as 100% British, Morrisons does at least offer a deal of two for £4, meaning you can grab 24 pigs in blankets for a decent price.

Morrisons also sells Cheese & Jalapeno pigs in blankets for £3.25 as part of its “The Best” range.

Iceland

£3 for 12 – 252g

£1.19 per 100g

24 x 504g = £5 (Any 3 for £5)

While Iceland’s cheapest pigs and blankets work out at the same price per 100g as Morrisons, they are unfortunately 50p dearer.

What could potentially be a game changer for shoppers is that Iceland is offering any three for £5 on its pack of eight pigs in blankets.

While you get less in a pack, you end up getting 24 for £5.

Sainsbury’s

£3 for 12 – 240g

£1.25 per 100g

Last but not least is Sainsbury’s, which offers a pack of 12 pigs in blankets for the most expensive price out of the seven supermarkets reviewed.

Costing £3 for 12, you’ll get less for your money with this deal.

Perhaps the worst part about this is how it costs more than double the price that Aldi is charging for the same amount.
