Che Adams ‘on brink of immediate Premier League return’ in £15m transfer to relegation strugglers

CHE ADAMS is closing on a quick Premier League return with Everton.

The Toffees have upped an initial £12million bid to £15m after the striker’s three goals in three Championship games for relegated Southampton.

Everton have been linked with Leeds hero Wilfried Gnonto and Troyes’ Mama Balde as boss Sean Dyche seeks more firepower.

Youssef Chermiti, 19, has already arrived from Sporting Lisbon for £15m.

But Dyche wants a more proven hitman as star forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin continues to suffer injury problems.

The 11-cap Englishman lasted just 38 minutes on his return in Sunday’s 4-0 loss at Aston Villa.

Calvert-Lewin’s face swelled after colliding with home No1 Emi Martinez.

And although the 26-year-old played on for 28 minutes he was eventually replaced by Arnaut Danjuma, Everton’s loan recruit from Villarreal.

Now Scotland ace Adams is tipped to complete a switch to Goodison Park in the next few days.

But the Toffees raised their bid by £3m – and seem to be easing back on their pursuit of Bissau-Guinean ace Balde.

So far this summer, Dyche has borrowed Danjuma and Leeds winger, as well as signing Ashley Young permanently.

Ex-Manchester United and England wing-back Young played the whole game at his old club Villa as Everton endured their second successive defeat of the Prem campaign.
